Fernbank House is a five star VisitBritain accredited self catering property.

2. Pre-Arrival

  • Telephone, e-mail and web contact is available at all times.
  • Bookings can be made by telephone, e-mail or post.
  • The house is 1 kilometre from the town centre.
  • The nearest bus stop is 150 metres from the entrance.
  • The nearest train station is Penrith. Taxi and bus services are available.

3. Arrival & Car Parking

  • There is a off road parking available for three cars immediately beside the property.
  • There is no street parking.

4. Main Entrance & Reception

  • There is a front entrance with one step up to the front door via a fairly level path from the front gate.
  • There is a rear entrance via the driveway.
  • There is external lighting at the front and rear of the property.
  • The reception hallway incorporates entrances to the lounge, ground floor bedroom and kitchen with the utility room  and dining room beyond. A flight of stairs leads to the first floor.

5. General Areas

  • Guests are advised of all fire exits and procedures Fire Risk assessment document in place.  All fire alarms are mains operated and interconnected.
  • The house has a level ground floor area with a single step up from the kitchen to the utility area and ground floor toilet.
  • A short flight of steps leads to the bathroom with a further two steps to the two bedrooms.
  • All rooms are fully carpeted with the exception of the entrance hallway, bathrooms, kitchen and utility area.
  • Telephone and a wi-fi internet connection are installed.

6. Ground Floor Bedroom

  • This area is accessed via the front door and hallway.
  • Lighting via ceiling and table lamps.
  • The super-king bed can be converted to provide two single beds.
  • Ample space around bed and furniture.
  • Bed and furniture all standard height.
  • Wall mounted LCD television with Sky operated via remote control provided.

7. Kitchen

  • The kitchen has ceramic tile flooring with underfloor heating.
  • Worktops / appliances are standard height.
  • Undercounter units include dishwashing machine, fridge and freezer. Large 110cms rangemaster cooker provides gas hobs and two electric fan assisted ovens.
  • There is a dual mixer tap with stainless steel sink at standard height.

8. Utility & Dining Room

  • Access via back door. Five steps up from driveway and one step into utility area.
  • Area has washing machine and tumble dryer on ceramic tiles.
  • Separate downstairs toilet and hand basin. Standard height.
  • Level access to dining room.

9. Double Bedrooms

  • Three double bedrooms accessed by a short flight of stairs from the ground floor.
  • Two rooms have king-size beds.
  • All beds and furniture is of standard height.
  • Lighting is provided by ceiling and table lamps.

  • Two bathrooms are on the first floor and both have waterproof flooring.
  • All furniture is on standard height.
  • Main bathroom has corner bath with shower above.
  • Other bathroom has shower enclosure.
  • All taps are lever operated.
